We help

Lions help quickly and without the red tape.

The first priority is in the local area of the particular Lions Clubs, then in the region, with co-operative projects in the whole country and then on an international level in countries that have been affected by a catastrophe or in the Third World through the construction and staffing of eye clinics and worldwide collection of glasses, through youth exchanges to help bring countries together or through working alongside the United Nations.

Our help takes many forms as we

help people in trouble
support the disabled in their therapy and integration
are active in senior care
support gifted children and youth
fight the misuse of drugs and alcohol and support measures to improve health
constantly work to improve tolerance and the multicultural community amongst all peoples
support the preservation of cultural heritage and structures
are committed to sustainable environmental protection

politically and religiously independent
an organisation that was formed in the USA in 1917
have been in Austria since 1952 and currently have 7700 male and female members in more than 232 Clubs
reliant on voluntary effort which means no administrative burden
responsible people in the service of humanity
proud that we raise over € 3 million per year in Austria for humanitarian aid

Lions Clubs International

is an organisation with more than 1.4 million members across the world, whose guiding principle is that of humanity. Therefore our aim is to help those nearest to us in the simplest and most uncomplicated ways and as quickly and efficiently as possible to fulfil our motto: "We serve".

Emergency situations are all around us. They are felt even in our own communities and affect others. Because we know that our own luck should not be taken for granted we try to help our neighbours and to apply our communal efforts in the service of others with the goal of bringing people closer together.

Spread joy

Do you know how great it is to be able to help? To watch laughing children, happy mothers and contented elderly people who have all been given a piece of life's joy?

That is the best reward for us, and therefore we try to help others through intensive personal engagement and without bureaucracy, in material and abstract ways, as quickly and in as targeted a manner as possible. For we are all volunteers.
